I have worked in and traveled throughout Scotland fornearly 60 years. As a result, I have a close and intimate knowledge of thelocal and national geography, history, place names and people of Scotland.

I have ready accessto the very wide range of records available in Edinburgh and I use them to try tofind ways around difficult problems. Often a problem can be overcome by movingfrom the main research line, taking a different route, and coming back to theoriginal line.
