Scottish genealogical research

Researcher with over 20 years experience in Scottish genealogical research

Scottish Research
I have worked in and traveled throughout Scotland fornearly 60 years. As a result, I have a close and intimate knowledge of thelocal and national geography, history, place names and people of Scotland.
GENERAL RESEARCH
I undertake all forms of Scottish family research including ancestry, livingrelatives and sighting and copying documents.
ANCESTRY
I can widen your basic family history knowledge by using the records whichare easily accessible and those which are are less well known.
LIVING RELATIVES
"AND SOME STAYED AT HOME - COME FORWARD TO GO BACK."Remember that not all members of a family left Scotland. The present canbe used to find the past by tracing the lines of those who remained in Scotland, down to the present day. This can be extremely rewarding - in human terms andas a means of finding information about early generations, which often cannotbe obtained from the records.
PROBLEM SOLVING SERVICE
I specialise in solving particularly difficult research problems. I have ready accessto the very wide range of records available in Edinburgh and I use them to try tofind ways around difficult problems. Often a problem can be overcome by movingfrom the main research line, taking a different route, and coming back to theoriginal line.
OTHER RECORDS WHICH I CAN ACCESS
